As many of you may know, Mizrahi Developments proposed a 12-story building for the corner of IPD and Wellington Street West. The proposal was denied by the City because the community secondary plan caps building height on that location at 9 storeys. Mizrahi appealed to the Ontario Municipal Board, which ruled Mizrahi could either choose to conform to the 9 storeys, or return with a “landmark” design that would justify the extra height. Mizrahi is staying with the 12-storeys and recently unveiled this new design. The City is seeking public input, and Councillor Jeff Leiper is hosting a public information session. City planners will be available to answer questions.
